South Bank Employers’ Group’s (SBEG) latest update comes with New Year greetings to all our friends and partners, after a busy and successful 2014. In our latest news, we give you a collection of the highlights from the past year.

Highlights include establishing the South Bank Business Improvement District, continuing effective delivery of public realm, security, marketing and employment programmes, progress on plans to improve the IMAX roundabout area and the South Bank Spine Route, creating a new website to share information on construction impacts, and support by SBEG for the work of South Bank and Waterloo Neighbours (SoWN) towards the creation of a South Bank and Waterloo neighbourhood plan.

Our members and staff thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing more success stories and working with you again in the coming months.

South Bank Visitor Management Group Launches New Website

The South Bank Visitor Management Group, a

public-private partnership between major organisations in the South Bank and Lambeth Council has launched a new local information website,

The new website is focused on keeping local employers, residents and visitors up-to-date with issues affecting the public realm in and around South Bank, along with a detailed map that highlights the different landowners in the area.

The website also provides a handy tool that allows visitors to report on problems such as potholes, graffiti and fly-tipping, in order for these to be acted upon by the Group as swiftly as possible.

The site also includes sections highlighting new developments, construction works, road closures, planning applications and upcoming events to keep the public informed about what’s happening in the local area.

“Our new website is centered on a long-term commitment to improving the everyday experience of the South Bank for residents, employees and visitors, and it enhances our ability to communicate more effectively with all our stakeholders” said John Langley, Director of External Relationships and Partnerships at the National Theatre and Chair of the South Bank Visitor Management Group. “We are committed to maintaining trusted relationships with our local community through our services and our new website is an example of our ongoing efforts.”

Complementing its online tools and user-friendly interface, the new website is optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile use. The website’s features and frequently updated content will assist visitors and community members and ensure they enjoy their time in the South Bank. 

The South Bank Visitor Management Group (VMG) is a unique public-private partnership between the major organisations and the Local Authorities in the South Bank with a long-term commitment to improving the everyday experience of the area for employees, visitors and residents alike. 

Members of the South Bank Visitor Management Group are: British Film Institute, Coin Street Community Builders, County Hall, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Trust, IBM, ITV Studios, Jubilee Gardens Trust, King’s College London, Lambeth Council, London & Continental Railways, London Duck Tours, London Eye, National Theatre, Network Rail, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, Rambert, Shell, Southbank Centre.

South Bank Employers' Group (SBEG) is a dynamic, non profit company which is focused on improving the South Bank area, ensuring it is managed to the highest standards and promoting the South Bank as a destination.

We are currently looking for a Communications Officer to ensure that SBEG has effective internal and external communications processes which promote member engagement, raise the profile of the organisation and the South Bank area, in ways that project a consistent and positive brand.

This role offers the opportunity for someone with three years' or more experience in communications to gain further experience and take the next step in marketing communications and PR, as well as work within the tourism, regeneration and arts sectors in London's most popular neighbourhood.
