South Bank Employers' Group (SBEG) is an association of the major organisations in South Bank, Waterloo and Blackfriars dedicated to improving and promoting the neighbourhood for the benefit of local employees, residents and visitors. In a wider context, the Group also seeks to make a positive contribution to the lives of residents here and elsewhere in Lambeth and Southwark, through employment, skills and cultural initiatives.

The Public Realm Department delivers the Group’s work aimed at improving the quality, management and maintenance of public space in the neighbourhood.

We meet those objectives through core projects and programmes including Capital Projects, Neighbourhood Services, Security and Emergency Planning

We are looking for an individual who is organised and efficient with a commitment to providing a high level of administrative service. You will be bright and enthusiastic with good communication skills, and a friendly and keen attitude.

Employment & Skills Advisor 

A chance has arisen to join the team of Employment Advisors at Waterloo Job Shop and support long term unemployed clients to change their lives and move into sustainable employment.

The Waterloo Job Shop is currently delivering the Government’s new Work Programme as a sub-contractor to The Shaw Trust. Lambeth and Southwark residents referred onto the Work Programme by Jobcentre Plus may then be referred to us by The Shaw Trust. We help Work Programme clients into sustained employment.

You will work to ensure that all clients are given high quality support and appropriate assistance to overcome barriers and enhance their chances of obtaining sustainable work.

Reporting to: Employment & Skills Manager

Salary: £24,000pa 

Contract: Permanent

HoursFull Time, 35 hours per week. Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.

Holiday: 25 days holiday per annum
