Employment & Skills: Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Open Day
7 Jan 2015
On October 28 and 29 Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and Waterloo Job Shop (WJS) held an open day with the aim to recruit hospital porters and catering staff. On the Open Day, pre-selected clients from WJS went along to GSTT and took part in various pre-interview assessments. Their advisors had gone through what to expect from the assessments beforehand and went with them to ensure there was a friendly face to help answer and questions.
Twenty clients went along to the Open Day and ten were successfully invited back for the next stage of interviews. The advisors then worked with these clients to prepare them, carrying out practice interviews.
Employment & Skills: Delivering the Work Programme
7 Jan 2015
Our Employment & Skills team continue to deliver the government’s Work Programme scheme working with long-term unemployed people assisting them back into work.
Based at Waterloo Job Shop on Lower Marsh, advisors work with clients supporting them with one-to-one meetings, workshops and group sessions making sure their CV’s are eye-catching and clear, working on their interview techniques and ensuring they are aware of as many job opportunities as possible.
Waterloo Job Shop also has computers for clients to use to carry out job searches and apply for vacancies. Since April, we have successfully put 74 people into work under this programme.
