Hostile Vehicle Mitigation phase 2

19th April 2017 | Article By Lee Baker

Measures to prevent terrorist attacks using vehicles have been installed to protect attractions and business headquarters.

Bollards and vehicle prevention measures were installed on both public highways between Westminster and Waterloo bridges and along the whole of Belvedere Road to keep our crowded neighbourhood safe from terrorism and accidents. We are now working to extend such measures all the way to Blackfriars Bridge.

The scheme prevents terrorist incidents such as in Nice, France, and also tragic accidents such as when a rubbish truck mounted a kerb in Scotland. It is agreed by police planning experts, business representatives and Lambeth Council with South Bank Employers’ Group co-ordinating and fundraising.
