Sutton Walk

The main route between Waterloo and South Bank has been turned from an ugly viaduct into an inspiring gateway under a South Bank Employers’ Group project.

We won £1m from the Arts Council Lottery Fund to support the commissioning of public art installations for Sutton Walk. A back-lit glass image was installed along one side of the walk and a large free-standing mirror monolith on the other after artist Alberto Duman and architects Jamieson Pritchard won an international competition.

We liaised with landowners and Lambeth Council in order to complete the project in 2001.
