ITV was launched in 1955 and is the oldest commercial TV network in the UK. it is an integrated producer broadcaster, who creates, owns and distributes high-quality content on multiple platforms. ITV operates the largest commercial family of channels in the UK and deliver content through traditional television broadcasting as well as on demand via the ITV Hub.
ITV’s South Bank complex of studios and office spaces on Upper Ground – the Television Centre – was built in the early 1970’s for London Weekend Television. Some of the channel’s best-known programmes including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, Loose Women and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway are all filmed here.
ITV also occupy the former riverside warehouse, Princes Wharf, and this mock Tudor building known as ‘The Younger’s Building’ as it was built as the London offices of Younger’s Brewery. They predominantly house a studio with set and prop storage.
