New Paddington Mural unveiled in South Bank

South Bank Employers' Group and South Bank BID (delivered by SBEG) are excited to have unveiled with partners a new mural of London's favourite bear, Paddington.

Delivered in partnership with Network Rail (a SBEG member), Visit London, and Studio Canal, the new mural is located at Sutton Walk, opposite Waterloo Station.

Created in honour of Paddington becoming London's first ever Welcome Ambassador, we're delighted that the mural will be in the heart of South Bank, welcoming and greeting visitors from all over the country.

The mural was created by Peruvian artist Gisella Stapleton, whose work draws from Latin American folklore and popular art. The importance of honoring her roots, culture and memories of her homeland as well as the empowerment of Latin women is core theme in Gisella's artwork.

The mural was officially unveiled on the 31st of October by Paddington's voice actor, Ben Whishaw, who also officially accepted the ambassadorship. The mural will be in place until early January, so head down to see it this festive period.

Paddington is also coincidentally a nearby resident in South Bank, through the Paddington Bear Experience in County Hall, which opened to visitors in May of this year.
