South Bank Employers' Group co-sponsors the Lambeth Growth Plan session at LREF25

Alongside Lambeth Council and South Bank BID, South Bank Employer's Group (SBEG) was proud to co-sponsor the Lambeth Growth Plan session at this year's London Real Estate Forum, an important opportunity to spotlight South Bank and Waterloo within the wider story of London’s and Lambeth’s growth.

Hosted by SBEG Chair, Tom Sleigh - the panel brought together leading voices from across South Bank's public, cultural, health and life sciences sectors: Cllr Claire Holland (Leader of Lambeth Council and Chair of London Councils), Laurie Lee (CEO of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust), Susan Johnston (Chief Operating Officer of Southbank Centre), and Professor Graham Lord (Co-Chair of SC1 London Health and Life Sciences Innovation District). Together, they explored how collaboration is shaping the future of this world-renowned district and how the ambitions of the London and Lambeth Growth Plans can be realised.

The discussion highlighted the major developments underway and planned - including the Waterloo Station Masterplan, the future ambitions for SC1 London, and the vital role of the Southbank Centre’s cultural offer, including plans for their 75th anniversary in 2026. Culture sits at the heart of any thriving district, and South Bank’s world-class institutions are central to driving growth, attracting investment, and building vibrant communities.

Our session was a reminder that none of this progress can happen in isolation. At the heart of everything we do is partnership: working across public, private and community sectors to deliver a shared vision for growth. SBEG is pleased to play its part in driving forward this agenda, and to have supported a conversation that will help shape the next chapter of South Bank’s story.
